Devo at 40! We join a stacked bill at House of Targ Aug 25!

We're so stoked for this show!

We join a super-group Devo cover band on this stacked bill that includes Man Made Hill and Douce Angoisse.

The celebration goes down at House of Targ in Ottawa on Saturday August 25, 9pm.

You can join the conversation over here on Facebook

See you there!

From the Targ event on Facebook:

For this momentous moment in history, a cover band has formed and called themselves ARE WE NOT DEVO? WE ARE NOT! Front to back, they will perform Devo's first album, Q: ARE WE NOT MEN? A: WE ARE DEVO! in celebration of its North American release date on August 28th, 1978 – the day that music got a little more weird.

ARE WE NOT DEVO? WE ARE NOT! is made up of these Toronto people:
Vocals/synth – Andrew Payne (Vanity Phase, Century Palm)
Guitar – Fraser Wynne (First Base)
Guitar – Alex Hamlyn (Century Palm)
Bass – Mike Simpson (First Base, Teen Archer)
Drums – Jesse Locke (Tough Age, Simply Saucer, Chandra, Rotten Column, Feel Alright, Century Palm)

MAN MADE HILL (Hamilton)
He will mesmerize your eyes with his body moves. He will pack your ears in a suitcase and take you on a trip through the tone zone. He will stimulate your brain with his humour jokes.

Feel the soft anguish of this solid electro pop.

Start the night off in a fuzzy, garagey, droney haze. Sounds like a perfect evening to me.

We psyched to announce we're playing two of our very favourite festivals again this summer.

June 13th, we kick off Ottawa Explosion at the 27 Club in Ottawa.

Explosion was our very first show 2 years ago and we're thrilled to be a part of this amazing, underground DIY fest again this year.

You can get early bird tickets from the Ottawa Explosion site here

The following week, from June 20 to 24, we're at Calgary's Sled Island!

Home of our friends at Saved By Vinyl, we're so happy to be heading west again this Summer.

Watch for our show updates at Sled coming soon!

Cups N Cakes: A DIY labour of love comp!

This limited cassette comp is streaming on Episode 109 over at Cups now

We're thrilled to be a part of this - our first compilation!

Cups N Cakes have been such great supporters during the early days of the Expanda Fuzz journey, so we're excited to contribute an unreleased track to this sexy, cool looking cassette!

In fact, the track is one of the very first songs we ever wrote and recorded. Expanda Fuzz history, folks!

Find out more about the comp here

You can order it from Cups N Cakes now. And we'll also have a very limited handful for sale at our Ottawa Explosion show on June 13 at the 27 Club...more details on that show coming soon.

Get our first album Bleuets here:

"This two-piece would be equally at home playing to the beard-strokers at a Warhol Factory Party as they would be ignoring their neighbour’s angry knocks for making too much racket in the garage". - Sled Island

"Sometimes some stripped back rock'n'roll is just enough, add in the darker garage edge, and that's enough boxes ticked for me!" - Beehive Candy

"Expanda Fuzz may be my new favorite band." - Brent Oliver, Artistic Director, Up + DT Festival, on Twitter

Expanda Fuzz
was conceived attempting to rip apart a Pink Floyd song with a distorted bass and a fuzz-driven guitar through a ripped speaker cabinet...while playing to a Roland 404 sampler. The result of that experiment can be heard on the duo’s new record ‘Bleuets’, where they showcase their brand of catchy, droney, post-punk songs that hook heavily into a psych-garage sound.

Think Kim Deal fronting the Velvet Underground, or Mary Timony jamming with Suicide. And while that initial Pink Floyd cover has yet to surface, many more Expanda Fuzz releases are planned for 2017.
